Why this initiative?

Our aim is to provide a simple process and supportive framework that enables CRF staff to connect with peers across the UKCRF Network for one-to-one support, reflection, and shared learning. Reciprocal mentoring offers space to explore challenges, build confidence, and support career development through conversation with someone who understands the CRF context.

To launch the pilot successfully, we are seeking volunteers to help establish an initial list of mentors. This will be one of a few ways CRF staff will be able to connect with a mentor.

What does participation involve?

  • Voluntary participation, starting 19 March, when the directory of volunteers will be published on this web page,
  • CRF colleagues may contact you using the peer mentor directory,
  • Mentoring pairs are self‑organised (there is no formal matching process),
  • Frequency, format, and duration of meetings are agreed by each pair,
  • You will participate both as a mentor and a mentee,
  • A Reciprocal Mentoring Guidelines and Checklist will be published for support,
  • An initial three‑month commitment to being visible in the mentor directory and available to take part in reciprocal mentoring.
  • After the pilot period, you will have the option to:

Renew or update your availability on the website, or
Temporarily mark yourself as unavailable if you have already established a mentoring partnership

This opportunity is open to:
